Who is behind this?
Hi. I am simply a web enthusiast and a privacy advocate. ConvertPrivately.net is not a startup. There is no venture capital funding, no board of directors, and no marketing team trying to harvest your email address.
This is a hobby project born out of frustration. I was tired of searching for simple file tools online and finding websites that were slow, filled with aggressive pop-ups, or—worst of all—required me to upload sensitive documents to unknown servers just to perform a simple task.
The "Privacy by Architecture" Philosophy
I believe that you shouldn't have to trade your privacy for convenience. That is why I built this site on a strict principle: Client-Side Processing.
Unlike 99% of other converters, this website does not send your files to the cloud. When you drop a file here, the conversion happens entirely inside your browser using your computer's own resources.
- I cannot see your files.
- I cannot copy your files.
- Your data never leaves your device.
You could physically disconnect your internet cable after loading the page, and the tools would still work. That is my guarantee of privacy.
Why is it free?
Because basic tools shouldn't be gated. I maintain this project in my spare time simply because I enjoy tinkering with web technologies and contributing to the open internet.
If you ever see ads on the site, they exist solely to cover the basic costs of the domain and hosting to keep the site live.
Found a bug?
Since I maintain this alone, I try to fix bugs as fast as I can. If you have a file format that isn't working or a suggestion for a new tool, feel free to reach out. I'm always looking for ways to make these tools more useful.
